THERE’S ALWAYS A FIRST TIME

When I was learning the art of driving, my mom wouldn’t let me on the major road (the express).
She would say that I am not yet good and I would reply ‘there is always a first time abi’. Really, that is the basic truth and reality of life, there’s always a first time in every phase. A first time to be born; happens only once, a first time to crawl, walk, run, and even your first day at school. As a little boy, one of the scariest first times was always the first day at school, and that is because we don’t really know what we’re getting into, or the type of other kids we are going to meet. But as time goes on us as human beings, it’s in our nature to adapt eventually. We get used to the cycle or system, and that I say is a stepping stone to the beginning of ones journey in life.
First times aren’t always easy, but it must be taken or done, and cannot be avoided. In general, most people have developed this phobia for ‘first times’, so they tend to hide back in their shells thus remain stagnated. I remember my first school debate. It was like I was in the midst of hungry predators, just writing it down brings fresh unpleasant memories to my head but now funny of that particular day. First I went blank, then lost composure, and lastly spoke off point. Big thanks to my partner and friend who did justice to his own simple topic, call it luck. Then for me it wasn’t a nice experience, but now I can proudly say it was a good experience because since then I’d learned from that and I can boldly say ‘bring it on’. This wouldn’t have been possible if there  was no first time or rather if I’d chosen to run away from it for the time being; yes time being because it was due to meet me on another day.
One of the many things I have learned from life is that ‘first times’ are important, essential, and also key to ones journey in life. That is why one has to be prepared to face it because it just like water, you can’t do without it! It is the beginning of a man’s life, it doesn’t matter how you start, its how you move on from there that really matters. How do you repackage yourself? Just like the bible says ‘better is the end of a thing than its beginning thereof’
It is also important to note that first time varies among individuals. To some it might go well, and to another it might suck, but that is not to say you aren’t good enough or you are less of a man compared to your counterpart. It’s by embracing and learning from your mistakes and opening your eyes to see what you didn’t see then. My first time asking a girl out sucked to me. I stuttered, I repeated words, and to make matters worse the girl said NO. Despite the disappointment I was glad I did it, why? Because immediately I poured out my lines and reasons all out to her it was like a heavy load was lifted off me. That’s what ‘first times’ does to you, it lifts that burden, waves that fear away, calms and prepares your mind for the one. Also, it makes you a better person, polishes your personality and then finally introduces you into the world. As the Holy Scriptures say ‘do not despise the days of small beginnings’, this goes to show us the root and origin of ‘first time’. It is very important to understand that ‘first times’ are not going to be rosy always depending on different situations and circumstances, but the assurance that God  has given us that if we remain steadfast and continually believe in Him, we’ll come conquerors and as victors, we’ll be ready to begin another conquest.
Finally always remember for every challenge or circumstance ‘There Always a First Time’. It is not something to be ashamed of, it’s only natural. Like one would say ‘it’s just one of those things …’
TAKE THAT BOLD STEP!

THANK GOD FOR JESUS

T hank God for Jesus Christ. Thank God for making the ultimate sacrifice for man. Man in our fallibility is beyond redemption by his own standard We already failed in our ability to redeem ourselves After a series of personal experience and inward reflection, I put it that we all are not without sin No matter how hard we try to prove we can do it on our own the more we fail There is no perfection in sin, since the Eden experience where man embraced sin the perfection of the flesh was corrupted Thank God for the perfection of His Son. God cannot and will never behold sin, but yet he still tolerates us No it isn’t double standard, but mercy Mercy on who? You Through who? His Son When God looks at us, he doesn’t see us in our nature We in ourselves cannot behold his presence with our filth no matter our self-righteousness He sees his ultimate sacrifice in us, when God looks at us He sees his Son’s sacrifice And it is becaus...

CALL OUT YOUR JOSEPH

Bible characters have always being a very interesting topic. I get to read and immerse myself into the story and lives of the various characters God used to show forth His glory. This post is directed to Christians; youths and adults alike, and also to anyone who is willing to be touched by it. I do have a thing for Joseph though. Yeah Joseph…... Joseph was a lot of things: He was young, in turn innocent and naive. He had a dream, which turned out be his vision and destiny. He was loved by his father, envied by his brothers. He was sold, he slaved, and finally he rose from the ashes and became a model for Christian youths today. My focus on his story is when he found himself in the lair of the seductress/temptress. Many youths/adults alike today will never pass on sex. In fact it has become a standard for being a man, so whenever one has the chance to prove him/herself worthy to their friends, they heed its call. Well as for me I beg to differ just like Joseph did....

KNOW THY SOURCE

Knowledge is power, and information is knowledge, and one can say information is power. More important is the source of knowledge or the information, and in every aspect of life it holds meaning and significance in our lives. The authenticity of the knowledge that is sought sharpens ones minds, builds ones character, and determines ones destiny. Having pointed that out, I have an experience to share. The scriptures make us to understand the people of God which was Israel at the time perished due to lack of knowledge. Simply put the people did not have adequate and true information or knowledge about their God and even if they did they rejected the truth. They often times let their selves be deceived by false teachings and the unbelievers around them. They began to indulge in the ungodly acts that God had instructed them not to do.  The scriptures also implore us as Christians to study the word of God to show ourselves approved and to rightly divide the word of truth. To expand...
